The Brook (II)
Categories: Writings

A sequel to The Brook‘.

“For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.”
I used to say that,
And much more.
But now,
Now I am nothing
-An eye sore.
No water I have
-None to give.
It’s infinitely hot.
Now,
How can I live?
The land,
It’s glassy.
The sand,
It has melted.
The earth is fire.
God help me!
Don’t tell me it’s time to retire.
I WILL go on!
But,
My glory days,
They are long gone.
There’s nothing left.
I must go.
My stay on this planet,
O! I loved it so…

Hi Rachit, These thoughts moved me very much for it is not only true but only true.Men may come and men may go but how many of them care for the earth they live upon?
